Breakell Racing’s latest trip over the Germany was to race in the VLN championship at the Nurburgring on the 14/05/16.

Again James drove and Opel Astra OPC Cup car for Team WS-Racing in the 4 hour endurance race.

James shared the driving with two team mates Ralf Lammering, and Jean-Luc Behets.

The guys had a good qualifying session and qualified 118th on a grid of 155 other cars which was also 3rd in class.

Unfortunately due to a last minute fuel pump failure after qualifying the team had to start the race from the pit lane as it took too long to change the pump.

James was out first and made up a few places. James drove a consistent stint keeping his lap times within a few seconds of each other to climb further up the field.

After 80 minutes in the car and 8 laps of the Nordschleife later it was time for Ralf to take over.

Ralf managed to continue the good pace throughout his stint despite a number of yellow flag and code 60 areas created by other cars crashing out of the race.

After Ralf, Jean-Luc took over and managed to set some quick lap times in his stint with a clearer track.

After 4hours racing the team managed to finish 5th in class narrowly missing out on 4th by 6 seconds.

All the drivers and the team made a cracking effort all weekend. Another brilliant trip to the Ring.
